ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - The anniversary of the break-out of the last group of inmates from the World War II concentration camp of Jasenovac was marked at the Jasenovac Memorial Area, east of Zagreb, on Sunday.

last group of inmates from the World War II concentration camp of
Jasenovac was marked at the Jasenovac Memorial Area, east of
Zagreb, on Sunday.#L#
The commemoration was held under the auspices of the Croatian
government.
Present were former inmates, representatives of diplomatic corps
and religious communities and anti-fascist fighters.
Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan said he came to pay his respect
to Jasenovac victims. He said they gathered in Jasenovac today to
condemn the evil which took place in Jasenovac.
A letter by Croatian President Stipe Mesic was read at the beginning
of the commemoration in which the president condemns every crime.
Slavonija Episcope Sava, Chief Rabbi Kotel Da-Don, a parish priest
from nearby Novska, Ivan Nikolic, and the head of the
Sisak County Muslim community, Imam Fuad Karaga, conducted
services for the Jasenovac victims.
Wreaths were laid and candles lit in memory of the Jasenovac victims
by envoys and officials.
