Members of the ACTE Committee discussed their experience in the
textile industry. Varazdin mayor Ivan Cehok said that the session
also tackled the possibility of promoting cultural and tourist
cooperation by establishing links among textile museums.
ACTE president Manuel Royes spoke about the association, stressing
that it gathered 55 cities from seven European states, its main goal
being cooperation in overcoming problems in the textile industry.
He said that Varazdin's application for membership was accepted
because of the importance of textile industry in the Varazdin area.
Varazdin's admission to the ACTE marks the beginning of a new
policy, which is aimed at helping countries which are not EU members
join the association, Royas said.
