ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - Croatia, which accessed NATO's Partnership for Peace programme in 2002, is participating in a joint military exercise in the Netherlands from April 15 through 26, the Croatian Defence Ministry said in a
statement Monday.

The exercise is taking place under the title ""Cooperative Lantern
2002". Participating are representatives of nine NATO members
(Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Great
Britain and the United States), as well as 12 countries members of
the Partnership for Peace.
Croatian and Slovene armed forces representatives worked jointly
on preparations for the exercise, the statement said.
the chief goal of the exercise is to develop the PfP programme for
improving actions and securing control in crisis situations, and
promote communication and mutual understanding with civilian
agencies such as the UN, governmental and non-governmental
organisations and other offices for communications, the statement
said.
