The meeting, held on Friday, focused on the Sarajevo Agreement on
constitutional changes in the country, which the HDZ had refused to
sign.
In the note from the HDZ, which was made available to reporters, the
party said the reason for them not being present at the meeting was
"the support Croatian authorities are giving to the Sarajevo
Agreement, which has consolidated the division of Bosnia to the
Serb and Bosniak entities and turned Croats into a national
minority".
"The official authorities in Zagreb thus, unfortunately, showed
its utter lack of principles, and that it saw the position of Croats
in Bosnia only as a detail in the wider political deal, considering
Croatia's international position, with Croat interests in Bosnia
being completely ignored," the HDZ wrote.
A HDZ official, Mariofil Ljubic, did, however, participate in the
meeting. Picula did not wish to comment in which capacity Ljubic
took part in the meeting. Several participants offered their views
and said Ljubic participated in the meeting "individually".
