create a multiethnic Kosovo, and one of the important conditions
for return is the introduction of reforms in economy, UN civil
administrator to Kosovo, Michael Steiner, said on Friday. #L#
At a news conference on the integration of minority communities and
stimulation of economic development, held under the organisation
of UNMIK and an international non-governmental organisation, Mercy
Corps, Steiner said that Kosovo's economy frame should be changed
and new jobs created for the majority population as well as for
minorities.
He explained that investors would arrive to Kosovo only if they were
guaranteed security and clear property rights relations.
"The inclusion of minority communities in overall life in Kosovo is
one priority of the Kosovo government," Prime Minister Bajram
Rexepi said.
Representatives of Bosniak, Turkish and Ashkali communities are
already relatively integrated, and now Serbs, located in enclaves,
should now also be included in the joint life, Rexepi said.
He said that life in enclaves was self-isolation and an obstacle to
the return of refugees to Kosovo.
