The fact that the decision of the Constitutional Court proclaiming
the equality of all three peoples throughout Bosnian territory is
being implemented is an improvement in itself, Mesic said. The
document can be amended but it is the "maximum of what could have
been achieved now," he said, adding that now everything depended on
the three peoples.
The document was drawn up by the international community's High
Representative in Bosnia, Wolfgang Petritsch. After month-long
negotiations, it was signed on Wednesday evening by three parties
from the ruling Bosnian coalition - the Social Democratic Party,
the Party for BH, and the New Croatian Initiative.
As for the new Serbia-Montenegro relations, the Croatian head of
state said the agreement regulating them was good for both
republics, as well as for Croatia and the neighbourhood.
"Many in the Croatian public were afraid of a new association, but
now we can see Yugoslavia is no more. That process is over and this
facilitates our cooperation in Serbia," Mesic said in Tirana, where
he is attending the Fifth South East Europe Co-operation Process
(SEECP) Summit.
