Party president Ante Jelavic was recently erased from the Mostar
County Court register as the party's representative following
warnings that the party would be banned from participating in
elections if Jelavic remained at its helm.
Party officials have confirmed that Jelavic will remain party
president and Lozancic will be the one representing it. This is the
first time in Bosnia-Herzegovina that a party is headed and
represented by two different people.
Lozancic is believed to be loyal to Jelavic. Following the
declaration of temporary Croat self-government last spring, High
Representative Wolfgang Petritsch replaced Jelavic from all posts
and banned him from taking part in any political activities.
Despite the decision, Jelavic was re-elected party president in a
single-candidate vote last October.
