The remains of four persons have been exhumed over the past two
days, said a representative of the Office, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan
Grujic. The exhumation is hampered by the fact "that the remains are
mixed and that parts of explosive devices have been found in the
pit".
A list of missing Bogdanovci residents includes 42 persons, he
said.
The mass grave was discovered by a villager who was digging ground
for a family vault at the local cemetery.
The victims include both civilians and soldiers, Grujic said,
adding that there were indications that a half of the victims were
Albanians who lived in Bogdanovci before the war.
The remains will be identified at the Osijek hospital.
The Bogdanovci grave is the 131st mass grave discovered in Croatia
so far. A total of 3,309 victims have been exhumed so far, of whom
2,692 have been identified. Croatia is trying to trace another
1,390 missing people, of whom 650 are from Vukovar-Srijem County.
