ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - Nine non-governmental associations on Wednesday called on the public to join them in a protest in support of the "Feral Tribune." In its final verdicts the Zagreb County Court ordered the weekly newspaper to
pay damages of 200,000 kuna. Until the damages are paid, the weekly's bank account has been blocked. In a joint statement, the associations protest against the fact that, more than two years after the parliamentary elections in Croatia, trials to free and critical journalism are possible. The Split-based weekly must pay 200,000 kuna in damages for "sustained mental anguish" to Marica Mestrovic, president of the sculptor foundation Ivan Mestrovic, and attorney Zeljko Olujic. for Civil Initiatives.
