ZAGREB, March 4 (Hina)- The Croatian government on Monday publicly invited the registration of candidates for members of the steering council of the news agency Hina, in line with the new law on Hina. The Hina steering council has a
president, a vice president, one agency employee, one media expert, one economics-financial expert, one legal and one informatics expert, read the invitation published in the newspaper Vjesnik. State officials, persons active in political parties, and persons employed or doing other jobs for other companies which might lead to a conflict of interest cannot be appointed to the Hina steering council. The registration of candidates expires in a fortnight. Under the new law, adopted last November, Hina has been reorganised from a state-owned into a public medium. The agency's founder is the Republic of Croatia and it has the status of a non-profit public institu
