ZAGREB, Feb 27 (Hina) - President of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) Zlatko Tomcic on Wednesday said the decision of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) to withdraw three of its members from their offices in the government was
not surprising, but could be expected. However, it was too early to say how the decision would be reflected on relations among parties in the ruling coalition. Tomcic stressed he expected a meeting of the coalition's coordinating body as soon as possible, at which the HSLS president should inform the coalition partners about the Executive Council's decision and the reasons for the decision. Asked to explain his recent statement that the HSS was ready to support a minority government, Tomcic said the statement was in line with the party's strong belief that early elections should not be discussed at all, but rather, direct all forces towards the preservation of the present coalition.(hina) lml
