ZAGREB, Feb 21 (Hina) - After it accepted a report on the realisation of Croatian Television's (HTV) programme direction, submitted by the former editor-in-chief Marija Nemcic, the Croatian Radio Televison (HRT) Council dedicated the
majority of its Thursday's session to protests against newspaper headlines on the alleged corruption of its members. The Nacional weekly at the end of January wrote that the HRT Council members Nada Gacesic-Livakovic, Jadranka Kolarevic, Zvonimir Torjanac, Sibila Petlevski and Vlaho Bogisic were given extra engagements, show appearances, and awards in order to support, at the last elections for the HRT leadership, the then leaders. Stressing they were not corrupted, some Council members said this was a deliberate obstruction of the HRT's work and an attempt to discontinue the HRT's transformation into a public media, which, as they said, was the intention of "some interest groups
