ZAGREB, Feb 20 (Hina) - Nine missing homeland war soldiers and civilians were identified at the Forensic Institute of Zagreb's medical school by a DNA method on Wednesday, while one person was identified by the classic method.
Croatian soldiers and civilians who went missing during the Homeland War were identified by members of their families. The victims were exhumed in Vukovar-Srijem, Osijek-Baranja, Lika-Senj and Pozega-Slavonija counties, and one person was exhumed in Bosnia-Herzegovina, head of the government's office for detained and missing, Ivan Grujic, said. He added the exhumation process continued in the lower Danube River region, and that another seven identifications of remains by DNA method were under way. According to the government's office data, 3,301 remains have been exhumed so far, of which 2,684 have been identified. Additional 1,400 persons are considered missing.(hina) np
