ZAGREB, Feb 11 (Hina) - Davor Bozinovic was nominated Croatian ambassador to Yugoslavia on Monday based on a Feb. 4 decision by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic. The decision was published in the Narodne Novine national gazette on
Feb. 8. Bozinovic, who held the position of charge d'affaires at the Croatian Embassy in Belgrade since Feb. 5, 2001, succeeds Zvonimir Markovic, who was Croatia's first ambassador to Yugoslavia between 1997 and 2000. Born in the northern Adriatic seaport of Pula in 1961, Bozinovic is a career diplomat who graduated at the Zagreb Faculty of Political Sciences. He was adviser at Croatian embassies in Sofia in 1994-6 and Sarajevo in 1996. Upon returning to Zagreb, he headed the Croatian Foreign Ministry's department for neighbouring countries with the rank of minister-adviser.
