DAILY SAYS BOSNIA MIGHT INCREASE EXCISE DUTIES FOR CROATIAN PRODUCT

SARAJEVO, Feb 7 (Hina) - The Bosnian Council of Ministers will instruct the governments of the country's two entities to increase excise duties for high tariff goods, which will directly endanger the import of cigarettes, alcoholic and soft drinks from Croatia, the Sarajevo daily Oslobodjenje says on Thursday. The official explanation for the measures would state that excise duties in Bosnia are adjusted to the tax rates Croatia applies to some Bosnian products, for example cigarettes. The introduction of a strict control of the quality of imported fuel, oil produced in Croatia would virtually no longer be imported in Bosnia as it is believed to contain an excessive concentration of lead and sulphur. Last year oil and cigarettes accounted for 30 percent of Bosnia's import from Croatia. (hina) ha
