SPLIT PNEUMONIA EPIDEMIC CAUSED BY PARROT FEVER SPLIT, Feb 3 (Hina) - Serological tests carried out by the Virology Department of the Croatian Public Health Institute have proven that a recent pneumonia epidemic in Split was caused by
parrot fever, the head of the Institute for Public Health in Split, Mladen Smoljanovic, said on Sunday. The disease claimed the life of one person, while around 20 others had to be hospitalised. Smoljanovic said the disease was contained thanks to the measures taken by the Institute. All patients have been released, he added.(hina) rml
