BELGRADE BELGRADE, Jan 29 (Hina/Beta) - The Serbian government's National Security Council on Monday night decided to investigate the contacts of former Bosnian Interior Minister Alija Delimustafic with economic and political
officials in Belgrade. The Serbian Interior Ministry will continue checking information on Delimustafic's possible responsibility for war crimes committed in Sarajevo during the war, the Council said in a statement. A timely intervention by the Serbian police prevented an operation which "threatened the country's economic stability", the Council says in the statement. Delimustafic, who has been charged with the abuse of his office and the forging of identification documents, was arrested in Belgrade on January 17. Interpol had also issued a warrant for his arrest.(hina) np sb
