ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - The World Forum Council has reached a unanimous decision to present Croatian President Stjepan Mesic with the foundation's annual award for activity aimed at the strengthening of peace, democracy and
international cooperation, the President's Office said on Friday.

with the foundation's annual award for activity aimed at the
strengthening of peace, democracy and international cooperation,

According to a letter Mesic received from the foundation's council
president Jean-Paul Carteron, the award is given to a person of
international renown for their prominent activity in the
strengthening of peace, democracy and international cooperation.
Mesic should receive the award late in June, at the next World Forum
session.
Some of the previous winners include Slovene Prime Minister Janez
Drnovsek, former Polish and Hungarian Presidents Lech Walesa and
Arpad Goenz, and Algerian and Estonian Presidents Abdul Aziz
Buteflika and Lennard Meri.
