RIJEKA, Jan 21 (Hina) - The main hearing in the war crimes trial to the so-called Gospic Group was postponed on Monday for the ninth time due to the defence's request for the exemption of panel of judges president Ika Saric, Rijeka
county court president Veljko Miskulin, and Supreme Court president Ivica Crnic. Retired general Mirko Norac, Tihomir Oreskovic, Stjepan Grandic and Milan Canic are indicted of crimes against civilians committed in central Croatia's Gospic area in late 1991. Oreskovic's attorney Zeljko Olujic demanded the exemption of Saric, Miskulin and Crnic due to what he described as founded suspicion of their bias and intolerance toward his client. The attorneys of Norac, Grandic, and Canic requested the release of their clients pending trial. If the Supreme Court turns down the exemption demands, the main hearing is to be held on Jan. 28, Judge Saric decided.(hina) ha
