ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - It is realistic to expect that up to four European Union member states will ratify the Union's Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with Croatia by summer, Assistant Foreign Minister Vladimir Matek
told parliament's European Integration Committee on Thursday. "Through its diplomatic-consular network the Foreign Ministry is intensively lobbying the European Union's members to ratify the SAA as soon as possible," he said. "It is realistic to expect that four countries at the most will do so by summer, whereas the rest will probably do so next year. An aggravating circumstance is that six countries, Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and France, are holding parliamentary or presidential elections, which may slow down the ratification process," said Matek.(hina) ha sb
