GERMAN EMBASSY - TEN YEARS OF CROATIA'S RECOGNITION

ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - The German Embassy in Zagreb in a statement issued Monday recalls "January 15, 1992, was a prominent pathway of a history of independence and freedom of Croatia and its citizens. This date at the same time marks the beginning of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and Croatia at an ambassador's level". German Embassy on the 10th anniversary of the event looks back in ten years of "the most extensive cooperation" with Croatia, and assesses "the then aspiration became a very extensive reality from the heart carried by people of the two countries." "Germans are aware that their state unity would not be possible without the history of freedom which progressed in the East and the south of Europe, in which the Croatian Spring movement was one of many significant terminals. That is why we remember this special historic context, which primarily contributed to the re- establishment of the German unity, and then provided for freedom and independence of a growing number of countries, including Croatia", the statement said. "German-Croatian relations are a part of a cooperation network between Croatian and the EU, and the joint European path in line with the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
