Asked if it was true he fled the site of the accident twice, the mayor said there "had been minor misunderstandings" which "were clarified during the on-the-spot investigation." Bandic said the police had done its part of the job in an expert and professional manner, and refuted allegations that senior police officers had to intervene to make him take the alcohol test.
