In a statement to Radio-Television 21 on Tuesday, Rugova said the role
of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) would
gradually change from that of an administrator to that of an
observer.
Kosovo has met some of the standards set by the international
community, Rugova said reiterating that the international recognition
of the province would be in the interest of not only Kosovo but also
countries in the region.
