Addressing the presentation ceremony, society president Igor Zidic
said that "globalisation is a process which we cannot withstand,
but there is room for various adjustments."
"Between a rebellion against globalisation and opportunism, Croats
should choose opportunism," historian Ljubo Antic said, adding
that a line should be drawn on territorial and spiritual interests,
biological survival, demographic distribution of the people. He
said that Croatia should avoid situations in which a minority had
crucial influence on the country's politics.
"The Croats should preserve their dearly-paid state, created at a
time of the disintegration of the world order," parliament
secretary Zeljko Sabol said, adding that the collection included
texts that "identify traps and offer answers to globalisation
problems".
Theatrical director Petar Selem said that "the terror of set dogmas
on the urban and the rural should be rejected", adding that cultural
promoters "reject ideological terror and present schemes offered
by globalisation".
"Globalisation is a well-thought-out plan that calls for the
development of individuals as citizens of the world without roots,
emotions, a family, religion and a nation," said Zdravko Tomac, a
politician and lecturer at Zagreb's Faculty of Political
Sciences.
Tomac added that the purpose of this plan was "to remove from the
Croatian scene people who have developed emotions for their family,
their country and their roots".
Retired economics professor Marko Veselica said that efforts were
being made "to push Croatia back into the Balkans" through various
regional integration projects.
