ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) - The founders of the FAK literature festival stated on Saturday that the travelling festival, which attracted a large number of readers, would cease to exist after four years. #L# The festival's founders, Hrvoje Osvadic, Borivoj Radakovic and Nenad Rizvanovic, said in a statement that over the past four years this informal festival had hosted some 80 Croatian writers and more than 20 writers from Great Britain, the United States, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia and Hungary. The first FAK festival was held in Osijek on 13 and 14 May 2000, followed by more than 17 events in Zagreb, Pula, Motovun, Rijeka, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Varazdin and Stari Grad. The founders said that their goal had been to affirm prose in the Croatian literature and revive the domestic literary scene as well as the public's literary interest. "We are satisfied with the fact that we have completely changed the literary scene, promoted a whole generation of modern Croatian writers and established new relations between writers and readers, as well as between the mediators - primarily the media and publishers," reads the statement.
