ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - Ahead of World AIDS Day, marked on 1 December, a campaign, called 'A Positive Action' has been launched in Croatia with the aim or raising the public awareness of prevention and treatment of AIDS.

On Sunday, a stand with adequate leaflets to be distributed to
passers-by was set up in Zagreb as part of the action.
A leading Croatian expert in treating this disease, Dr. Josip
Begovac, and the head of the Andrija Stampar school for promoting
health, Dr. Stipe Oreskovic, handed out the material on this
occasion.
With 216 people suffering from AIDS and 386 infected with HIV since
1986, Croatia is among the countries with a low occurrence of the
disease which claimed three million lives world-wide last year
alone.
