Mesic and Bozanic discussed Sunday's parliamentary elections, and
Mesic said that he expected good cooperation and responsibility
from the new government in dealing with accumulated problems.
In a cordial atmosphere, Mesic and Bozanic assessed that the
elections were the result of democratic progress in Croatia and
voiced hope that the priorities of the new government would be to
continue Croatia's integration into international associations,
take the necessary steps to revive the economy and promote export
and employment, and to complete reconstruction and the return of
refugees.
They also agreed about the need to develop economic and political
cooperation with neighbouring countries, and care for Croats
living in those countries.
After the meeting, the president and his guests had dinner
together.
