ZAGREB, Nov 24 (Hina) - A project for the protection of rare
habitats and endangered species called Pinmatra held a preliminary
workshop for its implementation on Monday. #L#
The project is carried out by the Croatian Museum of Natural
Science, with the support of the Royal Dutch Society for Nature
Conservation.
The goal of the project is to draw up a list of animals and rare
habitats whose protection is of European importance, and to back
the implementation of European Union documents which will be
binding for Croatia once it joins the Union.
Participants in the workshop were welcomed by Dutch Ambassador
Lionel S. Veer, the project's Dutch leader, Petter Veen, a
representative for the Slovene environment ministry, Peter
Skoberne, and the Croatian leader of the project, Nikola
Tvrtkovic.
