BELI MANASTIR, Nov 11 (Hina) - A monument was unveiled at the cemetery of the easternmost Croatian town of Beli Manastir on Tuesday in memory of people killed in the 1990s Homeland War whose bodies were exhumed from mass and single graves.
BELI MANASTIR, Nov 11 (Hina) - A monument was unveiled at the cemetery of the easternmost Croatian town of Beli Manastir on Tuesday in memory of people killed in the 1990s Homeland War whose bodies were exhumed from mass and single graves. #L# The remains of 25 civilians and civil protection staff who were killed during the Serb occupation of easternmost Croatia were exhumed from two mass and several single graves at the cemetery. According to the War Veterans' Affairs Ministry, the monument in Beli Manastir is the 32nd erected to mark mass grave locations. To date 137 mass graves have been located in Croatia from which the remains of 2,057 war victims have been exhumed. Croatia is still tracing 1,245 people gone missing in the Homeland War, of whom 96 from Osijek-Baranja County. (hina) ha sb
