The president made this decision in accordance with his constitutional powers and the decision on the dissolution of the parliament adopted by parliamentary deputies at a session on October 17, the president's office said in a statement. Under the Law on the Election of Members of the Croatian Parliament, the president of the republic calls elections and convenes the first session of the parliament. At least 30 days must pass from the day on which elections are called until election day. Parliamentary elections must be held not later than 60 days after the expiry of the parliament's term of office or its dissolution.
