ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - Please note that HNA3442 "MINISTER PICULA TALKS WITH EU AMBASSADORS ON TRIBUNAL, FISHING ZONE" has been withdrawn. Instead, HINA releases the following news item headlined "MINISTER PICULA TALKS WITH CROAT AMBASSADORS IN EU ON ICTY, FISHING ZONE". #L# ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula on Wednesday held a meeting with Croatian ambassadors, accredited to European Union member states, on "the most current topics which are dominating the relations between Croatia and the European Union, with an emphasis on cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY)", according to a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry in Zagreb on Wednesday afternoon. Picula informed the ambassadors in detail about "the latest elements which are important for the development and dynamics of relations with the EU". The Croatian ambassadors briefed Minister Picula on the views of the countries to which they are accredited, and "expounded specific features which exist in some countries' perception of Croatia," the press release read. "It is necessary to invest additional efforts in all EU countries in order to convey Croatia's views in more detail and as credibly as possible, and present efforts which Croatia is making with the aim of fulfilling political criteria for its entry into the EU," it said. "Regarding the case of (fugitive General Ante) Gotovina, Croatian representatives should persist in interpreting the government's absolute determination to do all it can in order to meet requests from the ICTY. It was emphasised that this case must not overshadow the great results which Croatia has achieved over the past few years," the press release said. (hina) ms sb
