Colonel Ivan Grujic, head of the government office for detainees
and missing persons, said on Wednesday that the persons in question
were most probably prisoners from Negoslavci killed before the fall
of Vukovar in November 1991.
All seven victims, including several women, were dressed in
civilian clothes, he said, adding that gunshot wounds were found on
them.
Grujic said that five mass graves containing more than 40 victims
had been found in an area between Negoslavci and Berak, which is
just three kilometres away.
The Negoslavci mass grave is the 50th mass grave found in Vukovar
county and the 137th in Croatia. It was discovered by employees of
the government office for detainees following a tip from Serbs, who
make up a majority in Negoslavci.
