HSLS president Drazen Budisa said that this was an important event
for the Croatian political scene which would be beneficial both to
Croatia and the two parties.
Budisa said that the pre-election coalition agreement would enable
both parties to achieve good election results, estimating that they
would win between 20 and 25 seats in parliament and become an
unavoidable factor in forming a new government.
He said that the HSLS and the DC had similar views on the problems of
Croatian society and that differences between them were small.
DC president Mate Granic said the two parties were brought together
by the similarity of their programmes, adding that they would play
an important role in forming a post-election coalition of centrist
and centre-right parties.
