OSIJEK -- Canadian Ambassador to Croatia, Denis Snider, and the head of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) office in Croatia, Cornellis Klein, on Thursday handed over to local authorities in Osijek a certificate on the removal of
mines from a part of land owned by the Agricultural Institute in this eastern Croatian city.

head of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) office in Croatia,
Cornellis Klein, on Thursday handed over to local authorities in
Osijek a certificate on the removal of mines from a part of land
owned by the Agricultural Institute in this eastern Croatian city.

The area measuring 20,760 square metres was cleared of mines, and
the funds for this job were secured by the Canadian government and
the UNDP. According to Ambassador Snider, over two million dollars
was invested in the entire project in the past few years.
