The trial is the first in a series of planned processes against
organised crime and war crimes to be heard by this tribunal,
established for that purpose.
The trial of Maki's clan will commence at Justice Palace in
Belgrade. The trial chamber will be presided by Judge Zoran
Tatalovic. Belgrade media quoted a state prosecutor as requesting
that the trial be closed to the public. However, the final decision
on that issue is up to the trial chamber.
All those to face the court on Tuesday are charged with murder,
enemy activities, terrorism and unlicensed possession of weapons.
