ZAGREB, Sept 13 (Hina) - Seventy-six percent among Croatians support the government's initiative to proclaim an economic zone in the Adriatic Sea, according to the results of a public opinion poll released on Monday.

Sixty-nine percent among Slovenes support their government's
decision to recall the ambassador to Croatia for consultations in
response to Croatia's announcement that it would proclaim the
economic zone, while in Croatia 69 percent of those interviewed
said the decision was wrong.
The telephone poll on Croatians' and Slovenes' positions on the
latest crisis in the two neighbouring countries' relations was
conducted on Sept. 4-6 by Slovenia's CATI and Croatia's Prizma
agencies.
Fifty-five percent of Slovenes are of the opinion Slovenia should
refuse to support Croatia on its road to the European Union and NATO
if Croatia does not change its mind about the economic zone. Twenty-
eight percent said Slovenia should support Croatia.
In Croatia 41 percent of those interviewed said Slovenia will not
support Croatia, while 38 percent said it will.
Fifty-four percent among the Slovenes said Croatia was more
responsible for the latest tensions in relations, as against 55
percent in Croatia, while 31 percent said both were equally to
blame, as against 24 percent in Croatia.
The poll included 300 people of age in Croatia and 320 in Slovenia.
