WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Hina) - The United States on Friday welcomed apologies exchanged by the presidents of Croatia and Serbia- Montenegro for the wrongs the two peoples did to one another during conflicts in the former Yugoslavia, adding it looked forward to the settlement of open issues between all ex-Yugoslav republics. #L# Commenting on the apologies exchanged between Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic and Serbia-Montenegro's Svetozar Marovic during Mesic's visit to Belgrade on September 10, State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said in a statement the presidents' apologies and concrete action taken to solve open questions, such as refugee return, the establishment of the border, and the visa regime, should contribute to normalising bilateral relations and regional stability. The United States is looking forward to the settlement of the remaining post-conflict issues between all former Yugoslav countries and their integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions, the statement said.
