The Swedish minister died on Thursday after being stabbed by a
mystery attacker.
"The departure of Anna Lindh is not a tragedy only for her family, a
blow to the Swedish people and the government, but also a loss of a
true friend of Croatia," Picula told reporters in Zagreb.
Picula said the Swedish minister had consistently supported
Croatia on its path to the EU and that Sweden had initialled the
Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Croatia and the EU
during its EU presidency.
He said Lindh's murder showed that the level of terrorism was
increasing.
The Swedish Embassy to Croatia will open the book of condolences, it
said in a statement.
