ZAGREB, Aug 16 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said on Saturday that Croatia was ready to take part in all UN missions and that the decision regarding the sending of Croatian soldiers to Iraq should be passed by parliament. #L# "The decision about sending soldiers abroad should be passed by parliament, but we still have not taken a stand on that matter," Mesic said after a meeting with Polish Premier Leszek Miller. Croatia is ready to participate in all UN-led international missions, Mesic said, but he did not say if Croatian soldiers could join the existing international forces in Iraq which do not have a UN mandate. Apart from the stabilisation of Iraq, Croatia is interested in the country's post-war reconstruction, Mesic said. "We are ready to take part in rebuilding Iraq and to collect, through some contracts, a debt of 200 million dollars, which Iraq owes Croatia," Mesic said. (hina) rml
