ZAGREB PLEDGES ASSISTANCE TO CROATS IN VOJVODINA

SUBOTICA, Aug 9 (Hina) - Zagreb City Assembly officials, currently on a two-day visit to Subotica, on Saturday promised they would continue helping the Croatian community in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina. #L# During talks with representatives of the Croatian National Council in Serbia and Montenegro, Assembly chairwoman Morana Palikovic- Gruden said that Zagreb would provide school books for Croatian- language classes, make it possible for Croatian students to spend their summer holidays on the Croatian coast and ensure professional training in Croatia for their teachers. Zagreb will also continue supporting the Bela Gabric Foundation which grants scholarships to Croats studying in Serbia and Montenegro. (hina) vm
