Between January 1 and July 1, two people were killed by mines.
By August 7, eight de-mining projects were implemented in
Dubrovnik-Neretva County, with an area of 465,276 square
kilometres having been cleared of mines.
This year, the number of potentially mine-infested areas will be
reduced by one, Bjelovar-Bilogora County. In 2004, the list of
mine-free counties will also include Zagreb, Virovitica-Podravina
and Dubrovnik-Neretva counties. Croatia should be completely
cleared of mines by 2010.
