The Bureau said that the job had been done successfully and preliminary results of the census could be expected by the end of June. The final results are to be published in 2012.
The census began at 8 am on 1 April.
According to estimates, this year's census cost HRK 174.9 million, 33 million more that the previous census in 2001.
Under the last census, there were 4,437,460 people in Croatia, or less by 2.9 percent than in 1991.
