with events surrounding preparations for this year's tournament.

The association "regrets to say that political feuding over Alka
continues unabated also this year."
"People who strayed on to the Management Board of the Alka
Association (VAD) and their political mentors have taken care that
even this year Alka is regarded as a nice opportunity for
rightwingers to celebrate," the association said in a statement,
adding that VAD president Mate Jukic was the chief culprit for the
creation of such an atmosphere.
The veterans' association appealed to the people of Sinj to raise
their voices in order to help "pull Alka out of a political morass
into which it has been thrown."
