As president of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-
Herzegovina (HDZ BH), Kljuic was the Croat member of the Bosnian
Presidency after the first multi-party election in 1991. He is the
third statesman from the former Yugoslavia to testify against
Milosevic, who is charged with genocide in Bosnia and crimes
against humanity and war crimes in Croatia and Kosovo.
The two statesmen who have previously testified against the ex-
Yugoslav President are Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and former
Slovene President Milan Kucan.
Nice, who is the chief prosecutor in the Milosevic case, said that
several documents and transcripts of secretly monitored
conversations would be introduced as evidence during Kljuic's
testimony.
The prosecutor said that the main part of Kljujic's testimony
should be wrapped up on Tuesday, while Milosevic, who is conducting
his own defence, would cross-examine the witness on Wednesday.
The trial will be adjourned on Thursday and Friday due to a plenary
session of ICTY judges.
