After MPs voted on a law on forest trees and shrubbery, one from the
so-called European package of laws, the opposition walked out of
the sitting when they were to vote on amendments to the law on health
insurance.
"It seems to me that my plan, under which the extraordinary
parliamentary session and the summer sitting was to wrap on July 18
and 19, was a misinformation and that we shall work throughout
August," said parliament president Zlatko Tomcic.
He discontinued the vote and adjourned today's session because the
ruling coalition MPs did not have a quorum. After the break,
parliament should debate the government's final bill on
telecommunications, another one from the European package.
