SINJ, July 6 (Hina) - It is still unknown who will replace Mirko Norac, currently in custody in a Rijeka prison, at the post of duke of the Sinjska Alka lancing tournament in August because the Alka Knights Society (VAD) failed to
elect the acting duke at a session on Sunday.

The election of the acting duke has been postponed until further
notice because additional consultations have to be held, VAD
president Mate Jukic said after the closed session.
Some fifty members of war veterans' associations protested as the
VAD was in session. They support the election of Croatian Army
Colonel Ante Kotromanovic, who was the annual tournament's duke the
last two years.
The other candidate is Ivo Delonga, a VAD steering committee member
who is backed by Jukic and part of the committee.
