At the start of 2002, Bosnian authorities extradited six men of
Algerian descent to Washington, whom the United States suspects of
being terrorists. They have been detained in the jail ever since.
The Bosnian ministerial council authorised the country's justice
ministry to draw up, in cooperation with the ministry in charge of
human rights and refugees, measures for the implementation of a
decision of the Bosnian House for Human Rights, a judicial
institution competent for the protection of human rights, which
described the Bosnian Algerians' extradition as illegal.
