A total of 3,500 mentally challenged athletes from 160 countries,
including 27 from Croatia, competed in athletics, bowling,
cycling, gymnastics, swimming and soccer. The most successful team
athletes from Croatia were bowlers, while the most successful
individual athlete was gymnast Igor Cuculic, who won seven medals.
