During a months-long operation called "Boomerang", police
discovered 11 smugglers of whom two are still on the run, the
interior ministry and Office for the Prevention of Corruption and
Organised Crime (USKOK) reported Thursday.
More than 96,000 ecstasy pills, 11 kg of amphetamines, a kilogram of
cocaine, some 30 pieces of weapons and several kilograms of
explosives were confiscated in the action.
The action was initiated following several confiscations of large
amounts of drugs on the Croatian-Slovene border last year.
Croatian police cooperated with the Slovene and Austrian forces in
"Boomerang", as well as with police in the Netherlands where
several people have also been arrested.
