The main subjects of talks Picula is scheduled to hold with
Bulgaria's senior officials will be bilateral and economic
cooperation, the situation in the region and the two countries'
drawing closer to the EU.
Bulgaria is EU's official candidate and hopes to join it in 2007.
Croatia is also hoping to access the Union in the same year.
Bulgaria was officially invited into the NATO at the 2002 Prague
Summit together with six other countries and is scheduled to join
the organisation in May 2004.
Last year's trade between Croatia and Bulgaria amounted to only
US$27 million, in which the share of Croatia's exports was less than
$12 million.
